Hey there, good lookin’!
My name is Anni Powers. Nice to meet you.
I got my start in 2003 by diving into the culinary world, where I promptly discovered that while I love food, I love people even more. I just couldn’t be fulfilled slaving away in the back of the house for the rest of my days. For many years I taught cooking classes where I showed even the most novice aspiring cooks that, they too, could boil water.
As serendipity would have it, I was suckered into matchmaking when I applied to be a Director of Dining for a dating service. Anticipating planning events for singles on the restaurant and hospitality side, I was thrilled to learn that I would be a bona fide yenta.
After 7+ years of making the love happen, I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds (thousands?) of the coolest, nicest, most fascinating, men and women ages from all walks of life. I am the brainchild behind many a happy couple; some married, some not, and I even have a few kiddos that would never have been created were it not for me putting their folks out on a blind date one fateful evening.
When I tell people that I am a matchmaker it is a great conversation starter, but don’t be fooled. Matchmaking is not always glamorous–or dramatic for that matter! I work with very real, genuine, everyday people who might just need a little push in the right direction to find their Person.
My experience is very unique in that I would select 3 men and 3 women based on their lifestyles and relationship goals to share dinner with each other at a nice restaurant, and then I set them up based on their feedback . Saying that I have been exposed to the intricacies of the single psyche would be an understatement.
I have created this blog to make the dating world a better place to be single and ready to mingle! It is a forum to share my experience with dating, relationships, life, and on occasion, I might just show you what I’ve whipped up in my kitchen. I hope that you find my posts both fun to read and useful.
I will gladly answer your dating and relationship questions, and have been known to be a great “Foodie Call” if you find yourself in a pickle. Who knows, you might just be put on blast in a post! If you’re into that sort of thing
